Operator's take

The terminal-multitasking life works until the results pile up: five agents, five branches, and your review process is a stack of terminal scrollback you scroll between. Conductor is the manager-app answer to exactly that. Add your repo, and every agent you spin up gets an isolated workspace — which is a fresh git worktree, stated plainly in its own FAQ — with a single screen showing who's working, what needs attention, and what's ready for review and merge. You can edit files directly in the diff before merging.

It runs the first-party agents — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode — under your existing logins: a Claude Pro or Max subscription works, and so does an API key. Conductor Cloud extends the same model with sandboxed microVMs (8 cores, 16GB, your repos and dependencies pre-installed) that keep running after you close the app, and there's a mobile app and an API for conducting from anywhere. The free tier is real: parallel agents, local workspaces, bring-your-own keys, $0.

The catches are the flip side of the polish. It's a closed app — the site links no source repository — so the open-source exit story the rest of this lane offers doesn't apply here. The Pro tier's price didn't surface in capture (Teams is $60/user/month and invite-only at the time of writing), and cloud workspaces are gated to paid plans with usage-based compute pricing announced as coming. And it's Mac-first by design: the local story doesn't exist on Windows or Linux, only the cloud one.

What it's good at

• The review-first loop — see every agent's state at a glance, review diffs in-app, edit files directly in them, and merge, without a terminal detour.
• Isolation by default — each workspace is its own git worktree, so agents can't step on each other.
• Your subscriptions, first-party agents — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode run under your existing Claude plan login or API keys.
• Cloud workspaces that outlive your laptop — Vercel-backed microVM sandboxes (8-core/16GB, Amazon Linux 2023, Node/Python/git/gh pre-installed) keep sessions running with the app closed.
• Conduct from anywhere — desktop app, an iPhone app, and a Conductor API.
• Team multiplayer — shared workspaces and live collaborative prompting on the Teams plan, with an admin portal and centralized billing.
• A genuine free tier — parallel agents and local workspaces at $0.

What it's not

• Not open source — no public repository is linked from the site; you're adopting a vendor app, not a repo you could fork.
• Not cross-platform locally — the local workspace story is Mac-only; other OSes are cloud-only.
• Not free at the cloud layer — Cloud needs Pro/Teams/Enterprise, Teams is $60/user/month and invite-only, and usage-based compute pricing is planned.
• Not a terminal replacement — it manages agents and diffs; your terminal remains where you live otherwise.
