Founded in 2022 by Ruben Fiszel, Windmill is an independent, privately held company headquartered in Paris, France. The company develops an open-source platform designed to facilitate rapid development of internal applications and complex workflows. Windmill's platform enables developers to convert scripts written in languages such as Python, Typescript, Go, Bash, and SQL into production-grade user interfaces, APIs, and automated jobs without requiring manual DevOps work. With a core focus on enhancing developer velocity, Windmill positions itself as an open-source alternative to legacy internal tool builders and offers a self-hosted, automatic AWS Lambda solution for workflows.
